Community event to celebrate recent Wake County and RDU Airport Authority action toward preserving recreational trails in the heart of the Triangle

Meet: Ride, run, hike or drive and meet up on Old Reedy Creek Road, north of where it crosses over I-40. GPS 35°50'35.8"N 78°46'44.3"W (between Umstead State Park and Lake Crabtree County Park).

All outdoor enthusiasts are invited to Join RDU Forest, TORC, and Umstead Coalition on Saturday, November 4 at 10am for a short celebration of recent progress towards preserving a unique forested recreation area in the Triangle area! Ride, run, hike or drive...bring the family and the dogs...and meet up on the North side of Old Reedy Creek Road after it crosses over I-40 (e.g. between Umstead State Park and Lake Crabtree County Park). Look for folks with RDU Forest signs.

Hear brief remarks and updates from elected officials and leaders of TORC and Umstead Coalition about the RDU Airport Authority’s recent announcement to work with Wake County to expand Lake Crabtree County Park and to reconsider the future of the Odd Fellows tract, preserving its significant contribution to outdoor recreation and quality of life in our growing region.

RDU Forest is comprised of the Lake Crabtree County Park trail system, as well new trails on RDU airport property and the adjacent Umstead State Park. For more information on the solution we are advocating: http://rduforest.com/solution/
