Help us restore Sycamore Mess Hall so it can be open for public use for the first time in almost 30 years. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) and Works Progress Administration (WPA), The Sycamore Mess Hall first opened to the public in 1937.

The focus of this service day will be to remove items stored within the mess hall and begin to clean the inside to prep for interior restoration.  We will be moving items to the outside, so be prepared for any weather.

Guarantee you will feel a great sense of satisfaction after what you accomplish on this work day!

This event is part of the Umstead Coalition's events to celebrate the 80th anniversary of William B. Umstead State Park -- Your Park since 1934!

The Umstead Coalition will provide snacks, water, and lunch.

We will have gloves, but it is recommended that you bring your own work gloves if you have them.

The Umstead Coalition
