Members of the community are invited to attend this rally and public meeting to #stoprduquarry! Join community leaders who are standing up against the Wake Stone/RDU Quarry plan and let’s raise awareness to #stoprduquarry!

Scheduled Speakers: Wiley Nickel - NC Senate, Raleigh City Council Member Stef Mendell District E Raleigh City Council, Raleigh City Council Member Russ Stevenson, Raleigh City Council Member Kay Crowder, Raleigh City Council Member David Cox, Former Morrisville Mayor Mark Stohlman, Raleigh City Council candidate Sam Hershey.

Additional Speakers: Other community leaders who wish to voice their support for the local government owners to have a voice in how their public property is used (or abused) will be recognized.

Parking Location: 2100 N Harrison Ave, Cary, NC 27513 (“Reedy Creek Parking Lot” off of Harrison Avenue-main entrance for Umstead State Park off of I-40)

Rally Location: Picnic Shelter #1, just down the trail from the parking lot

Food: Light snacks served (included 85th Umstead State Park Anniversary cake, fruit, cheese/crackers, chips, lemonade.  

RSVP helps with food and planning.  Note:  this event is being cross-pointed on multiple sites from the sponsors.

Duration: Approx. One hour, welcome to linger afterwards for conversations.

Film premier (event 2) will be later at 6:00 PM at JC Raulston Arboretum (tickets required for movie premiere).  See below.
