Join us help with trail work in Umstead State Park to help Umstead State Park make the trails more environmental friendly.

We will be working on a trail reroutes. The Company Mill pedestrian trail near the metal bridge. The reroute will enable the trails to have less erosion and require less maintenance. This will require a 0.7 mile hike along the pedestrian trail to get to the work site.

Particularly for the afternoon, some volunteers will be doing maintenance in the Forested Rain Garden located in the parking lot.  No hiking.

Bring: Drinking water and snacks. Sunscreen, hat, sturdy shoes, long pants, rain jacket if raining.

We supply: work gloves, tools.  If you have your own gloves and tools, that would be helpful.
