Please join The Umstead Coalition for a fun event to show our support for protecting Umstead State Park from a proposed quarry — the first private quarry on public lands in NC.

Mark Stohlman, former Mayor of Morrisville, will be dressed up as "Barney Rubble" near the Odd Fellows Tract answer questions about the new quarry from 9am-11am (stop by any time from 9am-11am). The Umstead Coalition will be hosting a hike from 11am-12:30pm in Umstead State Park along the border of the Odd Fellows Tract.

*Please note that Barney Rubble is a pretend character to prove the point of how important it is to protect the Odd Fellows Tract.

"Barney Rubble, CEO will be holding a public information Q&A session near the Old Reedy Creek Road overpass (above I-40) next to the future Wake Stone Quarry. Come out to ask Barney questions and get a free sample of pm2.5 toxic dust in both 100 and 200 ug/m3 sizes!

Be sure to bring your kids to meet Baldwin the Bald Eagle before she is gone for good. Barney and Baldwin the Bald Eagle are also available for weddings and corporate events. Do not bring any of those obnoxious save RDU Forest signs to the Q&A session, as they scare the nearby wildlife."
