The Umstead Coalition is fighting for the Wake County Zoning to be enforced. The Odd Fellows tract and the 147 acres of forested mountain bike/pedestrian trails at Lake Crabtree County Park were zoned by Wake County on March 1, 1982 as Wake County low density residential. These lands are environmentally sensitive;  Wake County should honor and enforce its zoning.  Zoning can not be ignored.  Wake County staff gave the Umstead Coalition a “Decision” on December 18, 2023 they will not enforce Wake County zoning on RDUAA lands.  We disagree and filed an appeal to the Wake County Board of Adjustments.

The Umstead Coalition's Appeal will be heard on Tuesday, July 7 starting at 9am.  The Board of Adjustments meets in the big auditorium on the 2nd floor of the Wake County Justice Center.   Please come and show your support.

Dates and place:  Tuesday, July 9, 9am til afternoon (expect lunch break - come when can)
